Carvalho Staircase

When invited to create a special staircase for a house at Itamambuca beach, in Ubatuba, Brazil, Hugo França felt challenged. He wanted something fresh, but aligned to his poetics at the same time: naked nature as a protagonist.
The designer suggested a fallen tree from the surrounding woods to serve as a structure for the steps, and started his fieldwork with a local partner. After a month of searching, they found a monumental and robust Angico Preto in the stunning Mata Atlântica area.
